FOUR SCHOOLS IN THE REGION RECEIVE EUROPEAN SEAL OF QUALITY AND TWINNING

n a total of 1,204 projects in forty-one countries, two hundred and thirty European Quality Stamps were awarded to Portugal in 2018, four of which are here in the Madeira Aitónoma Region, according to a statement sent by the Ambassador and Twinning of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. The award winning schools were the EB1 / PE of Lombada – Ponta do Sol with the project ‘Enhancing Students and Teachers Success through STEM education’ invigorated by teacher Rosa Luisa and educator Sofia Freitas; the EB1 / PE project of Visconde Cacongo with the project ‘Coloured by the sun, United by the sea’, by Professor Rubina Silva and EB / S Gonçalves Zarco with the project ‘Reach – Reinterpreting, empowering and accepting our culture heritage’ by teacher Alexandra Francisco.

Students can receive the Student Quality Seal, once their teacher receives a national seal of quality. And this will be the public statement of the school’s commitment to quality and openness in European collaborative work, “says the same source.
The European Quality Label is a “second success mark and indicates that the project has met a certain European Standard and is awarded by the central support service (CSS) in Brussels to teachers on a project awarded on the basis of their quality score” .
