SESARAM reinforces that in the last days an exceptional influx has been verified in the Emergency Department of the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, with particular aggravation in the days of yesterday and today.
In a statement sent to our staff, SESARAM states that “there is a lack of beds for hospitalization of acute situations (patients waiting in the ER for a vacancy in the wards of their respective specialties) because the beds are occupied by situations of high clinics “. He added that “it is committed to finding exceptional solutions to overcome this issue in order to guarantee the health care to the users of the Region through the possible solutions in the face of these exceptional circumstances.”
He further informs that “we understand that the high clinics constitute a true social scourge, but we remember that the mission of SESARAM, EPE is the provision of health care, continued care and treatment and palliative care to the population,” concluding the statement that “we are aware that adequate recourse to available health services will enable a better response in the provision of care, in accordance with the needs of the population. “
