The Madeira Whale Museum’s garden is once again the stage for the second edition of the CineMar 2018 film cycle, which will be held weekly on Friday, June 21 at 9pm on June 22, 29, 13 and 20 July. Films with themes in line with the mission of the museum will be shown, with the sea and marine species being a constant challenge when it comes to the conservation of species.
The film series will begin with the movie ‘Dolphin Tale’, a story inspired by real facts, and that tells the story of a dolphin that is wrapped in the meshes of a fishing trap, causing him serious injuries that lead him to lose the tail.
The second film ‘In Search of Dory’ is aimed at younger audiences despite appealing to everyone. “The fun character, known for her memory problems, is the protagonist of this underwater adventure that along with her friend Nemo and sets out on a journey through the oceans to find answers about their past. This is a fun way to approach marine biodiversity and the habitat of different species. July 13 will be special as we have the presence of teacher Emilie Mangoni who will give a Yoga class, by 19h30.
Finally, the movie ‘Big Miracle’ will be screened, based on a true story that has captured the hearts of many people around the world when there is a need to join forces and put differences and interests aside to save a family of whales – twenty tusks, after a sudden freeze, in the Arctic Circle.
All sessions are free and designed for the general public. Movies were selected that contemplate different age groups, continuing the cycle of the previous year, promoting the use of the natural amphitheater, privilegedly located on the sea but also thought to dynamize the Parish of Caniçal.
