A FOREIGN ELDERLY COUPLE HAVE BEEN RESCUED ON THE FORMOSA BEACH YESTERDAY

A couple of foreigner swimmers around the age 60 who decided to face the strong swell at Praia Formosa were saved from the MarFunchal Front.
The two citizens entered the water near the Pestana hotel, just where, earlier this year, another tourist disappeared, who was unsuccessfully searched for days by the Maritime Authority and other security forces.
Within minutes, after entering the water, the tourists showed some difficulty before the waves on a rough sea day, which forced the intervention of the swimmers who managed to rescue them. On the ground, some abrasions were observed in both individuals, but apparently without gravity.
The weather forecast shows an agitated sea in Madeira with the south coast on yellow alert, with waves between four and five meters.
