Saturday and Sunday, in the stores ‘Pingo Doce’, will be volunteers for the collection of food, which will later be delivered to those most in need.
The Caritas Diocesana of Funchal this weekend holds its second major campaign of food collection of the year, next to the chain ‘Pingo Doce’, with shops scattered all over the island.
To this end, there will be hundreds of volunteers who join this initiative between Saturday and Sunday, many of them young people properly organized by their schools.
The goal is, as usual, to collect food that will then be separated into ‘baskets’, delivered to those most in need and duly referenced by the institution.
This, it should be mentioned, is the first campaign that will take place under the aegis of the new direction, headed by Duarte Pacheco, who proposes to ‘revitalize’ the institution.
